The Taj Mahal:

The Taj Mahal, on the River Yamuna near Agra, is one of the world's most famous monuments. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal means "crown palace" and is actually a tomb for Mumtaz Mahal. In Kolkata, West Bengal, the Victoria Memorial is a white marble structure that commemorates the reign of Queen Victoria. In Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the Gateway of India was built to honor the visit of another British royal, King George V, in 1911. A symbol of colonial oppression, the Cellular Jail in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, took 12 years to build and is a national memorial to freedom fighters. In Bangalore, Vidhan Soudha is the largest legislative building in India and houses the Karnataka High Court.
Hawa Mahal:

The Palace of Winds, the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur was built in 1799 for the ladies of the court by the poet-king Sawai Pratap Singh. In Mysore, the Mysore Palace was designed by architect Henry Irwin with a series of magnificent domes and arches. With its ornate ceilings and richly carved doors, the palace is now a museum displaying royal costumes and paintings.
Qutub Minar :

The Qutub Minar in New Delhi was built from red sandstone in the 13th century. Legend suggests it was built as a place to call the faithful of the Islam religion to prayer. The Charminar in Hyderabad is famous for its minarets and has been called the "Arc de Triomphe of the East." The Sanchi Stupa in Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh, is a well-known example of Buddhist architecture.
